STEREO MASTERING
Audio Preparation & Google Drive Submission Guide
Please prepare and submit your final stereo mix before our scheduled consultation.
01 / Audio File Specifications
| File Format | WAV preferred; AIFF accepted |
| Bit Depth | 24-bit or 32-bit floating point |
| Sample Rate | Original session rate (44.1, 48, 88.2, 96 kHz, etc.) |
| Peak Level | -6 to -3 dBFS recommended; no clipping |
| Headroom | 3–6 dB preferred; do not force a target |
| Normalization / Dither | Both disabled |
| Channels | One stereo interleaved file |
Important:
Clean, unclipped audio is more important than
reaching an exact peak level. Do not unnecessarily
reduce your mix volume to meet a target.
02 / Prepare Your Mix
- Disable loudness limiters and maximizers on the master bus.
- Remove clipping or saturation used only for loudness.
- Disable normalization and dithering.
- Check for unintended clipping, distortion, and noise.
- Keep creative reverb, delay, automation, and intentional effects.
- Preserve essential mix bus EQ and compression if part of your sound.
- Ensure the full song and effect tails are included.
If master bus processing is essential to your sound,
include a processed reference and, when possible,
an additional version without that processing.
03 / Export Your Stereo Mix
- Open your completed mixing session.
- Disable unnecessary loudness processing.
- Select WAV, 24-bit or 32-bit float, and the original sample rate.
- Export the full song as one stereo file.
- Listen to the exported file and verify its quality.
